Studio One Day 6: ‘Pet Peeves’

My next studio shoot was ‘Pet Peeves’, set in a pet store about two coworkers who have a cute meeting up and then it turns out the guy is a stalker or something. I didn’t really like the ending twist.
Written by Jamie-Leigh Grant and directed by Ruby Railey, and I was the 2nd AC, meaning i was the guy that did the slate (clapper board) and said “scene 1 take 3” etc. It’s actually quite a cruise of a job but also you do have to be a bit onto it as well cause you’re also making sure the monitors (for the directors etc to watch) are set up and people get annoyed if they aren’t done quickly even if there are obstacles in the way.
On the whole it went really well though. Freddie was the sound recordist so during & in between takes I’d just hang around with him on his little sound desk and fill out my camera logs (with timecodes, so you know what shots were what and how long they were, etc).
On the whole the shoot went really well. Ruby is a fun director to work with and Jon did really great as the 1st AD (assistant director). A crew I’d work with again that’s for sure :)
